l'm use this picture to represent a few things. The woman directing is my high school chorus teacher. She, along with every other music teacher that I had growing up, had a tremendous impact on my decision to go into music education.
Although this is a fairly recent picture (and I've been out of high school for 10 years in June!), the group that she is conducting had a tremendous impact on my love of music and singing. It was always something that I enjoyed, but singing with this group CLICKED, and the feeling of making music with this group of people is something that I have never been able to replicate. It was with this group that I really discovered great choral music, and great music making.
I am constantly saying that if I had more time, I'd love to get back into singing and making music for me. While it's something I could swing right now, it's not feasible once I get into my own musical season and festival season, which runs from January through April. It is definitely something that I miss.
